About Me

I am happy you are reading my journal and I hope my experience can encourage you as you love your baby and help her grow.

There are some things you might like to know about me.

People say my husband is lucky, but I know I'm the luckier one.
I am an ELL teacher.  My kids teach me many new things.
I enjoy biking, swimming and taking walks.
I like to paint.
We live in Des Moines, Iowa.  We think it is the perfect size.
I am lucky that my mom and dad live near.
I went to Iowa State to be a teacher.
I grew up in Minnesota spending winters sledding and ice skating until it was too dark to see.
I enjoy making photo books that tell stories.
I love my yard!  In the summer, getting dirty in the garden is my favorite thing to do.
I have done a marathon--on cross country skis.  When I finally finished they had already cleaned up.
Becoming a mom was the most difficult thing I have ever done--but the best thing, too.
I am thrilled I stuck with breastfeeding Aya.  It is a source of gratitude and amazement.
I believe that with loving support and patience, most all things are possible.
